ITAT Recruitment 2026: Vacancy and Salary Details
ITAT is hiring for 42 regular vacancies for high-ranking Group B roles. These roles offer great monthly pay grades. The post of Senior Private Secretary has 22 open seats, while the Private Secretary post has 20 seats available.
Senior Private Secretary
- Total Open Seats: 22 vacancies.
- Category Break-up: SC (01), ST (05), OBC (04), EWS (05), and General (UR) 07.

Private Secretary

ITAT Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Only Indian nationals can apply for these Private Secretary jobs. The educational qualification and special skill requirements are the same for both the Senior Private Secretary and regular Private Secretary posts.
- Degree Needed: Applicants must be a Graduate Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) holder in any stream from a recognized university or an equivalent college qualification.
- Shorthand Skill: You must have a high typing speed of 120 words per minute (WPM) in English Shorthand.
- Computer Knowledge: You must have a working knowledge of computers and office software like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or Page-Maker.
What Is the Age Limit?
Candidates applying for the Private Secretary roles must confirm if they meet the required age limit set by the ITAT:
- Maximum Age Limit: Your age must not be more than 35 years old to apply for either of the two posts.

What Is the Selection Process?
You must note that you have to pass multiple stages to secure Private Secretary jobs under ITAT. The written tests for both these roles will take place at 9 stations, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. You must select two test centers based on your preference. You should also note that ITAT can cancel any center if it gets a few candidates. In such a case, you have to appear at the second exam centre that you have chosen.
Written Exam Pattern
- Paper 1 (General English): 100 marks. Covers essay writing, letter writing, precise writing, and grammar rules.
- Paper 2 (General Knowledge & Reasoning): 100 marks. Covers general studies, logical reasoning, and current affairs.
- Language Medium: Both papers are conducted in the English medium only.
Skill Test Pattern
- Test Details: Total of 100 marks.
- Shorthand Rule: Requires English shorthand speed at 120 words per minute.
- Typing Rule: Requires English typing speed at 45 words per minute.
- Evaluation: You must pass the written test to qualify for the skill test stage.
- Personal Interview
- Total Marks: 75 marks.
- Eligibility: Only candidates who successfully pass the skill test will be called for the interview.
- Schedule: The specific interview dates and venues will be announced later.
Passing Marks Requirements
- General Category: 40% minimum in each paper and 50% aggregate score overall.
- OBC / EWS Categories: 35% minimum in each paper and 45% aggregate score overall.
- SC / ST / PWD Categories: 30% minimum in each paper and 40% aggregate score overall.
Travel Reimbursement Rule
SC and ST candidates working in government service can get their travel money back. They will get the cost of a 2nd Class Ordinary/Sleeper Class railway fare or standard bus fare when they show physical travel tickets for the skill test or interview.
ITAT Recruitment 2026: Documents Required
You need to upload self-attested copies of all the following documents when you fill out your application form online:
- Age Proof: Your 10th class certificate showing your date of birth.
- Degrees & Mark Sheets: Your Graduation Degree Certificate or mark sheets for all semesters/years, along with your Provisional Certificate.
- Caste Certificate: If you belong to the SC or ST category, you need to provide this document.
- OBC Certificate: The latest Non-Creamy Layer certificate if you are applying under the OBC category.
- EWS Certificate: The latest Income and Asset Certificate for EWS candidates.
- Disability Certificate: A certificate showing your nature and percentage of disability if you are applying under the PWD category.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC): A proper NOC from your current office or department if you are already a government employee.
