Who Can Apply: Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates who wish to apply for the Assistant Staff Nurse roles must confirm if they meet all requirements. 

Basic Eligibility 

• Only female candidates can apply for these posts.
• You must have a valid Bonafide Himachali certificate.
• You must be registered with the HPNRC in Shimla.
• 10th and 12th must be from Himachal schools, but this rule does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc Nursing: Pass with at least 50% total marks
• GNM Diploma: Pass A-Grade Nursing Diploma with at least 50% total marks

Age Limit & Relaxations

• Minimum Age: You must be at least 21 years old.
• Maximum Age: You must not be older than 45 years.
• Counting Date: Your age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026.
• Reserved Categories: Age relaxation of 5 years is available for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates from HP.
• Government Employees: Candidates who are currently working with the HP government and ex-servicemen also get a 5-year age relaxation.

HPRCA Assistant Staff Nurse: Salary Details

• Selected candidates will get a fixed salary of INR 25,000 per month. 
• It must be noted that this job is temporary for a fixed period of 5 years.
• Selected candidates will not be government employees and have no automatic right to permanent status.
• The government can extend the contract (if needed) and increase the salary after considering various factors. 

What Is the Application Fee?

• Applicants from all the categories have to pay an INR 800 application fee (INR 100 exam fee + INR 700 processing fee). 
• If you need to edit your form during the 4-day correction window, you have to pay an INR 100 correction fee. 
• You need to pay the application or correction fee online using approved methods, like Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
• It is a must to note that the paid fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.

What Is the Selection Process?

Those applying for ASN vacancies must pass the CBT test to secure this job. Here are important details about the selection process:

• Test Format: Offline OMR test or Computer-Based Test (CBT) with 120 multiple-choice questions.
• Total Marks: 120 marks, with 1 mark for each question.
• Time Limit: The total duration to complete the exam is 1.5 hours (90 minutes).
• Syllabus: Covers nursing subjects, Himachal GK, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, English, Hindi, and Reasoning.
• Passing Marks: 45% for the General category and 40% for SC, ST, OBC, and WFF categories.
• Normalization: The Z-Score method will be used to balance marks if the exam is held in multiple shifts.

Note: If the number of people passing the exam is less than the number of open job posts, the Aayog can lower the passing score by up to 5% after writing down the exact reasons for this.

What Are the Required Documents?

You need to upload copies of the following documents while applying online and also bring the original documents during verification:

• Age Proof: Your 10th class certificate.
• Nursing Degrees: Your B.Sc. Nursing degree or GNM diploma certificate.
• Mark Sheets: Year-wise or semester-wise mark sheets for your nursing course.
• Provisional Docs: Provisional certificates if your final degree is not yet issued.
• Experience Papers: Post-qualification experience certificates signed by a government authority.
• Caste Proof: If you are applying under the reserved category, you must provide a valid category or caste certificate.
• BPL Proof: Your official Below Poverty Line certificate, if applicable.
• Photo: A scanned passport-size photograph that is less than 1 month old (Maximum 1 MB).
• Signature: A clear scanned copy of your signature (Maximum 1 MB).

Note: All your certificates must follow the required formats, or your application will face rejection.
