The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Regional Headquarters (Northern Region), has declared the availability of 205 apprentice positions for the training session of 2026-27. The opportunity includes apprentice positions for Graduate, Diploma, and ITI Trade aspirants in various fields of expertise. The selected candidates shall undergo apprenticeship training for a duration of 12 months in various AAI offices in the Northern Region. 

The entire application mode will be online through NATS/NAPS portals, depending upon the qualification of the candidate. What Does AAI Apprentice Recruitment Offer?

This recruitment process is intended for applicants seeking to acquire hands-on experience and training from the Airports Authority of India through its apprenticeship programme. The term of apprenticeship is 12 months from the start of the contract. The different disciplines of engineering, technical, computer, and trade disciplines have different quotas.

Passing Year Conditions

Candidates should have completed their degree, diploma, or ITI qualification in the year 2024 or after. Candidates cannot apply if:

  • They have had a previous apprenticeship in the same or different trade.
  • They are presently enrolled in an apprenticeship.
  • They have had an apprenticeship that lasted longer than a year once they completed their qualification.
  • Their qualification leads to disqualification under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Candidates will not be considered if they applied for any other field, and this may lead to the rejection of their applications.

Who is Eligible to Apply for the Apprentice Roles at AAI Northern Region?

Candidates should only be Indians with a domicile within the clearly defined Northern Region States/UTs. The eligible areas are stated below:

Selection Process for AAI Apprentice Recruitment

This particular apprenticeship process does not have any written examination. The selection for the apprenticeship will be based on the candidates’ academic performance in his/her field along with the documents produced during the verification. The process comprises the following steps:

Academic Merit -> Document Verification -> Interview/Certificate Verification -> Medical Fitness -> Final Engagement

Shortlisting Based on Merit 

As the first process of selection, the candidates will be selected based on the percentage obtained in the qualifying exam. Otherwise, the merit list will be determined based on the next optional criteria such as the date of birth of the candidate and the date of the qualifying exam.

Document Verification

Candidates who qualify for the selection process will get an email with information about the needed documents and certificates that must be provided in their original form in order to proceed with the next steps of selection.

Interview / Certificate Verification

The last step of the selection will be an interview or certificate verification stage, if needed.  Aspirants may have to complete certification verification or attend an interview, leaving their applications pending until verification has been completed. 

Medical Fitness

Appointed applicants must procure a certificate of medical fitness from either a government medical officer or a medical officer of a government organization.

Final recruitment

The final appointment of the candidate will be made after fulfilling the requirements of document verification and medical fitness.

Those who wish to apply must do so via the portal that corresponds to their qualifications. Those pursuing Graduate/Diploma need to complete the application form on NATS 2.0, while ITI Trade Applicants will go through NAPS.

For Graduate and Diploma Applicants – NATS 2.0

To apply, follow the steps below.

  • Go to  www.nats.education.gov.in and select Student and then General Student.
  • Go to Student Registration and make sure you have your email ID, mobile number, Aadhaar number, qualifying certificate, and APAAR ID handy.
  • Complete both mobile and email OTP verification and perform Aadhaar e-KYC.
  • Fill in your basic and educational details and create a password for your account.
  • Verify your account using the email link you received during registration.
  • Log in and complete your profile with your basic, educational, communication, and training preferences.
  • Upload your educational certificate via DigiLocker/APAAR if applicable.
  • Preview and submit your profile and generate your Student Enrolment ID.
  • Look for Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR, New Delhi (NDLSWC000002).
  • Choose the right apprenticeship opportunity and click on Apply.

For ITI Candidates – NAPS Portal

To apply to ITI programs through the NAPS portal, candidates must undertake the following steps:

  • Go to www.apprenticeshipindia.org.
  • Click on the Register option and select Candidate from the list.
  • Fill in your basic personal details such as Name, Address, and Contact Number before submitting the registration application and activating your account via email.
  • After which you can log in using your Registration Number or Email ID along with your password.
  • After logging in, click on Complete Your Profile and input your personal information into the required sections.
  • After you’ve done this, search for the establishment using the code E05200700101.
  • Choose Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR.
  • Pick your preferred apprenticeship opportunity and click on the Apply button.

No Application Fee

An important aspect of this recruitment is that candidates do not need to pay any application fees for applying for the AAI apprenticeship. It is also to be noted that no TA/DA will be paid for attending interviews or document verification.

Important Rules Candidates Should Know

Before applying for the AAI apprenticeship, candidates must be fully aware of all the conditions:

  • Candidates must get their profile verified by the concerned Regional Board.
  • Serious violations of rules during training can lead to the termination of the Apprenticeship Contract.
  • The Apprenticeship Contract will terminate automatically after the completion of the 12-month training period.
  • Those candidates who get selected must sign the Apprenticeship Contract on the NATS/NAPS portal after they join AAI.
  • Apprentices will be governed by the Indian Apprenticeship Act, 1961, and also by AAI’s rules, policies, code of conduct, and discipline.
  • AAI will not entertain any correspondence on the matter settled by the management decision.
  • In case suitable candidates are not available, AAI may keep a few positions vacant.
  • AAI will not engage in replying to candidates individually who do not make it to the final selection or do not receive a call letter.
  • The filling of the slots will depend solely on the management requirements.
  • In case of any ambiguity, the English version of the official notice will be valid.
  • Management’s decision on eligibility, selection, rejection of application, or cancellation of the recruitment process will be final.
  • Furnishing of any false, incomplete, or incorrect information at any stage may result in cancelation of candidature or appointment.
