PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026: Educational Qualification

All the candidates must note that they need to qualify in any one of the following educational qualifications to apply for this job:

• Option A: B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing OR Regular B.Sc. Nursing from any recognized college or university. OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from any recognized institute or university. For both B.Sc. options, you must be registered as a Nurse and Mid-wife (RN or RN & GM) with the Central or any State Nursing Council.

• Option B: Diploma in General Nursing and Mid-wifery (GNM) from a recognized board or council. You must have at least 1 year of work experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after completing your GNM diploma. You must also be registered as a Nurse and Mid-wife with a State Nursing Council. 

Note: You can’t apply for this job with a distance education degree or open learning diploma. You can only use them if they are approved under the Ministry of Education rules dated June 10, 2015. If it doesn’t match those rules, your qualification will be rejected. 

PGIMER Recruitment 2026: Age Limit & Relaxations

To apply for the PGIMER Nursing Officer recruitment 2026, your age must be between 18 and 35 years as of October 3, 2026, which is the final day to submit your online form. DOB recorded on your 10th or 12th class school certificate will be accepted, and you can’t request to change this date later. Here are the age relaxations available for applicants from different categories:

• SC / ST Candidates: 5 years’ relaxation.
• OBC Candidates: 3 years’ relaxation.
• PwBD (General) Candidates: 10 years’ relaxation.
• PwBD + SC / ST Candidates: 15 years’ relaxation.
• PwBD + OBC Candidates: 13 years’ relaxation.
• Central Government Civilian Employees (UR / General with 3 years regular service): 5 years’ relaxation.

Note: Age relaxation is not available for reserved category candidates if they apply for an unreserved (UR) seat. If you qualify for age relaxation under PwBD and Central Government Civilian Employees categories, you can’t combine them. You will only benefit from one of the two that gives you more beneficial relaxation. Moreover, the maximum age of a PwBD applicant after relaxation can’t be more than 56 years on the crucial date. 

PGIMER Nursing Officer Salary 2026

• Pay Level: Selected candidates will be placed under Pay Level-7 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Pay Scale: The basic monthly pay scale ranges from INR 44,900 to INR 1,42,400.
• Extra Allowances: This notice does not list additional monthly allowances separately. So, you should check the official Central Government allowance rules for details not covered in this announcement. 

PGIMER Nursing Officer Application Fee 2026

You must pay your application fee online through the payment portal using a Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. It is advised to avoid payments through UPI. Also, note that application fees are non-refundable, so double-check your information before submitting the form. 

• PwBD (Disabled Candidates): Totally free (Exempted from fee payment)
• SC / ST Candidates: INR 800 (Plus standard transaction charges)

What Is the Selection Process?

Applicants must note that the selection for this post depends entirely on an online test. There is no personal interview round for these Group B posts. 

1. Exam Pattern Details

• Exam Mode: Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) held across India
• Question Type: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Total Marks: 100 Marks (Each question carries 1 mark)
• Total Time: 100 minutes
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer
• Medium of Exam: English only

2. Minimum Qualifying Marks

To clear the CBT exam, you must score at least the following minimum percentages:

• General and EWS Candidates: Minimum 40% marks
• SC, ST, and OBC Candidates: Minimum 35% marks
• PwBD Candidates: Minimum passing marks match their respective social category (General/SC/ST/OBC)
• Reserved Category Candidates (Applying for UR seats): Minimum 40% marks

3. What Are PGIMER Nursing Officer Selection Stages?

• Step 1 (Computer-Based Test): You must appear for the online MCQ exam as per the details mentioned above.

• Step 2 (Shortlisting): PGIMER will shortlist candidates category-wise who pass the minimum qualifying criteria. The number of shortlisted candidates will be 3 times the total vacancies.

• Step 3 (Document Scrutiny): Then, the scrutiny committee will check the application forms and uploaded certificates of the shortlisted candidates against applicable hiring rules.

• Step 4 (Provisional Result): A provisional merit list and waitlist will be declared based on online exam marks by the scrutiny committee. 

• Step 5 (Document Verification): Selected and waitlisted candidates will be called for an in-person physical document verification round.

• Step 6 (Final Selection): Made purely on merit based on CBT marks, after documents are found in order. 

PGIMER Nursing Officer Exam Cities 2026

The CBT test will take place across 29 cities in India. You must choose your preferred test cities while filling out the online form. The department will allot centers on a first-come, first-served basis, and you cannot change your chosen city later.

All the candidates applying for these posts must note that the application process is entirely online. The department will not accept any offline forms or printed applications. You can complete your registration by following these simple steps: 

Go to the Website:

First, visit the official PGIMER website at www.pgimer.edu.in. Go to the “Recruitment” link on the home page.

Complete Your Registration:

Click on the registration link and enter your basic details like the advertisement number, date, your full name, DOB, mobile number, and email ID. You must note that your name and birthdate must match your class 10th certificate. You can’t change these details after submitting them. 

• Log in to Your Profile:

  Check your registered email and mobile number for a unique User ID and password. Use these login details to sign in, then click on the “Go to Application Form” button.

• Fill in Your Details:

  Enter your personal information, school/college qualifications, and work experience details in the form sections. Click the “Save and Next” button to move between different parts of the form.

• Upload Your Photograph:

  Upload a recent, un-attested passport-size color photograph in JPG or JPEG format. The file size must be between 50 KB and 80 KB. The photo must be taken on or after July 1, 2026. The candidate’s name and the date on which the photo was taken must be clearly visible.

• Upload Academic Certificates:

  Upload clear scanned copies of your 10th marksheet for age proof, graduation degrees, GNM diplomas, state nursing council registration cards, and category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) if applicable. If you are currently working, you must upload a NOC from your employer.

• Select Your Exam Cities:

  Choose your preferred examination cities carefully from the available list, as you cannot edit your choices later.

• Pay the Fee and Submit:

  Review all sections, click the submit button, and pay the required category application fee online using your Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.

• Print Confirmation Page:

  Save and take a clear printout of your filled application form for your future records and upcoming document checks.

Note: If you currently work in a government, semi-government, or autonomous organization, you must apply online and also send your application through your department. The application must reach the Institute within 10 days after the online application deadline.

Key Points to Note

• You can apply for more than one position if you meet the eligibility criteria, but you must pay separate application fees for each post.
• You can request to change your name, DOB, category, and other details in your form after submission.
• OBC candidates must upload a certificate issued between April 1, 2026, and October 3, 2026. You must present this in the Annexure-I format along with the Annexure-II declaration during physical checks.

• EWS candidates must present a valid Income and Asset Certificate for the year 2026-27. This certificate must be issued between April 1, 2026, and October 3, 2026. Your family’s gross annual income must be below Rs. 8 lakh.

• PwBD candidates must have at least 40% benchmark disability and upload their disability certificate. If you need a scribe or extra exam time, you must inform the department beforehand via email at aorcpgi@gmail.com.

• The department will release roll numbers and admit cards on the official website about one week before the exam date. No physical admit cards will be sent by post.

• You are not allowed to bring mobile phones, wristwatches, wallets, jewelry, or any electronic items inside the examination hall.

• Final selection results will only be published on the official PGIMER portal. No personal letters or individual messages will be sent to candidates.
